Do you make time for fun in your life?

I recently wrote about why Play matters in our lives (Part 1). Today I'm continuing with Part 2 about easy ways to bring Play into your life in my Series: Presence, Play, Connection and Balance.

So in today's email, I've got a few suggestions for you about bringing Play into your life… don't be afraid to dance like nobody's watching! Turn up the music, let loose, and just let your body groove to the rhythm. Dancing is one of the most liberating ways to express yourself and feel carefree. Whether it's in your living room or at a dance class, let the music move you, and watch how it lightens your spirit.

Don't forget about the power of laughter… surround yourself with people who make you giggle and belly laugh, and don't be afraid to share your own funny stories. Laughter is infectious, and it's a natural stress-reliever. So, make time for comedy shows, funny movies, or even a hilarious book – laughter is a universal language that connects us all.

Embrace your inner child by revisiting your favorite childhood games and activities.
Whether it's playing a game of hide and seek, flying a kite, or making sandcastles at the beach, these simple activities can transport you back to a time when your imaginations had no limits.

And speaking of imagination, let it run wild! Try your hand at creative outlets like painting, writing, or crafting. These activities not only help you tap into your playful side but also allow you to express yourself in unique, creative ways. Don't worry about being perfect – only the process matters.

Another fantastic way to welcome playfulness is through exploration.  Go on that trip to see new places, take a hike in nature, or simply wander around your own neighborhood like a curious explorer. You'll be amazed at what you can discover when you allow yourself to wander.

Oh, and don't forget about playdates… spend time with your favorite people or fur babies doing fun and carefree activities. Whether it's a picnic in the park, a game night, or simply tossing a frisbee around, these moments can create lasting memories.

Lastly, practice mindfulness to stay in the present moment. (ooh another good word: Present) When you're fully engaged in what you're doing, it's easier to embrace playfulness. So, put away distractions - especially your phone - savor your experiences, and let go of worries about the past or future.

Remember, life is a journey, not a destination. And incorporating playfulness into your daily routine can make your journey all the more enjoyable. Playfulness isn't about being immature; it's about being open-hearted and curious about the world. It's about infusing your life with joy, spontaneity, and a sense of adventure.

So give yourself permission to have fun, be silly, and see where it takes you. Who knows what wonderful surprises are waiting just around the corner?
